Hosta is a genus of plants commonly known as hostas, plantain lilies and occasionally by the Japanese name giboshi . Hostas are widely cultivated as shade-tolerant foliage plants. The genus is currently placed in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae, and is native to northeast Asia.  Island breeze has wide green margins with bright yellow centers in spring.  Centers will turn chartruese in shade and light yellow in sun.  Very showy red petioles.  Great substance.  Will grow to 30 inches.   Tolerates full sun to full shade.  Will need cut down at the end of the season.
